Under the creative guidance of our awesome team of our energetic, spontaneous, and sometimes silly staff, a unification of the grades occurs.

Grouping (ratio 2:20 kids)

Our After school program is divided into three groups: Kindergarten, After School, and CIT (Counselor in Training).  All three programs have developed personalities of their own.  The uniqueness of each group makes SP Kinesthetic kids what it is today.  The interaction and participation fosters confidence in each child and counselor.  We are very big on student involvement and participation.

Homework

Homework time is a priority during our day. To ensure success we seperate the children by age group for a focused study environment. Upon completion all homework is inspected by a staff member. The children who do not have homework spend the beginning of their time involved in silent reading, for those still learning to read an older friend will assist them.  After reading time, the kids are engaged in an organized outside activity. A child cannot participate in an outside activity unless all home work due the next day has been completed. Homework time starts at 3:30 p.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.  At 4:30, if any child has not finished their homework, a counselor will stay back until the work has been completed per parent request.

Activities

We play games, indoor or out, board games, physical games, and so forth. We have arts & crafts, you name it, we've probably done it. We also offer seasonal enrichment classes: chess, crochet, origami etc. 

Do you remember making forts? That's right, forts.  With the increase in electronic device usage, children are losing their sense of nature.  In the best selling book, Last Child in the Woods, author Richard Louv refers to this loss as "...nature deficit disorder."  We are fortunate to have a forest on our grounds.  You have to visit us to believe what we are saying.  The "Jungle", as the children call it,  is where they take walking field trips to make their forts and expand the imaginative side of their thinking.
